Hello, how are you holding up? Soon, soon we will be free to wander the streets in other people’s company but lets not forget that staying inside is helping to stop the spread.
Anyway, at the beginning of the month Tom Skinner released his second single ‘Wrap Me Up.’
Its a more chilled track compared to the other singles, albums and EP’s we’ve been listening to here at Undercurrent.

Clipping the heels at four minutes in length, the single beings with guitar, what sounds like waves and Skinner singing the opening line; “We keep on turning pages, waiting on something to start…”
With a female accompanist on vocals it adds a higher phrasing for each lyric. I particularly enjoyed the slight minor tail off singing before the chorus and the entry of the drums. Doing this, is a solid equation of adding that extra level of interest.
From there the song gravitates towards the ending, peacefully gaining momentum with vocals sliding in and out of the mix.
The acoustic guitar and vocals were recorded and produced by Skinner. Of the song itself, its about being content and comfortable in someones else’s company. All other instruments, bass, drums and electric guitar where recorded at other musician’s houses and gather by Skinner to produce.
In his own words, he had this to add; “its about how lucky I am to still be surrounded by good company in these times. These last few months I’ve just been working at maces, writing new music and getting ready for a new album.”

Wrap Me Up was released on the 1st of May with Skinner getting ready to graduate from Falmouth uni. Overall, it is a sweet serenation (not actually sure of the correct spelling of that-google didn’t help much either) to accompany your down time while quarantining.
If you can, like, share and keep an eye out for any updates through his social media. We’ll be waiting for that new album now!
Until next time, stay sexy and safe everyone.
