Everyone loves a bit of a mystery, some form of cliff hanger and a tale to keep you interested. I had a friend- I say had, the fucker is still alive- who went “tae a perty” in the west end. Out of his comfort zone, he tried to mingle among unknown folk. Failing, he listened out to the music but it was cut short. In the front room, sure enough, some mad cunt had set up a full band and was setting up to play a gig.
And I quote from him, “aw man, was some mad cunt and his mates. Couldnie believe there were goin’ fur it.”
They played, played loud and well. Too loud in fact that the police had to come and shut down the party and kill the music.
My mate told me about the party, I’m a curious kunt and asked for the band name.
“Fuck knows mate” was his response, well informed as he always his. I asked around, kept asking around and eventually found someone else who was there.
“Stock Manager, their name is Stock Manager.”
Finally, making moves and cutting shapes I wanted to listen to some of their music. You can find their/his singles (I’m not sure who’s actually in the band) on Spotify. Recently they played Fyling Duck but I couldn’t make it.
Then, out of the blue I got an email. Coming home from work in the freezing cold, hungover (an accessory to my life) and clad in the winter clothing of scarves and gloves. I stripped down to my bare bone and dumped ma stinkin’ body into bed. My phone whistled, I gazed apon my lock screen and there it was…
Stock Manager- Are We just A Moment In Infinity
Jumping out of bed, I found my headphones and sat at my desk to listen. However, realising that I still had my scarf on while stark naked- this made an interesting portrayal into my life as the single man living alone.
Stock Manager kicked things off in April and are band of four people. Hailing from Glasgow, they’ve slinked out tunes and have kept themselves busy with gigs and D.I.Y youtube videos.
This new song though is their best work. Its very fucking crispy, the melody of the voice incorporated with the lead guitar, echoed drums and feed backed sounds thinning through the track.
What I can let you know, is that the band recorded the song themselves and its under the four minute mark- so curtailed for modern listening (not really sure what the fuck I mean by that). After the 2 minute mark it breaks and soothes out and then you get a really cool vocal and guitar part singing together. I know I’m not describing this well but when you get the chance to listen to it you will be shocked that these guys recorded it themselves.
Right, so, Stock Manager get them listened to. Any questions? Don’t email or message me about them. Any perties in the West End you can invite me too? Please do.
Stock Manager are playing nice and sleazy’s on the 20th of November.
See you around.
